President Prabowo Inaugurates Muhammad Thohir Regional Hospital in Krui, Lampung

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the KH Muhammad Thohir Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Krui, West Pesisir, Lampung Province on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

The inauguration took place after President Prabowo personally inspected the healthcare facility’s services.

“And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, proudly inaugurate the KH Muhammad Thohir RSUD in Krui,” said Prabowo in his speech on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

Prabowo welcomed the inauguration of this hospital, stating that residents in the West Pesisir region can now access better healthcare services. “I welcome this with great pride and happiness to be here, and I am delighted that West Pesisir Regency, in the town of Krui, can now access adequate healthcare services,” he said.

During the event, Prabowo also reaffirmed his commitment to modernising healthcare services. He expressed concern upon hearing reports of citizens passing away due to the long distances required to reach medical facilities.

“I am concerned; I have heard that there have been deaths due to bleeding during childbirth because travelling to a hospital takes too long,” he revealed.

Prabeway stated that the government will continue to improve healthcare services. He noted that the government plans to modernise 10,000 community health centres (puskesmas) throughout Indonesia.

“I have planned with the Minister of Health and the government that in the next three years, we will build new facilities, or where possible, repair and renovate 350 to 400 hospitals in all regencies across Indonesia. We will also improve and modernise 10,000 community health centres throughout Indonesia. This is already part of our plan,” Prabowo concluded.
