President Prabowo Subianto departed for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province on Friday (10/7) to inaugurate five strategic dams spread across various regions of Indonesia. This working visit represents a concrete step by the government in strengthening water resource infrastructure to support national food security.

The President and his entourage departed using the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at approximately 10:45 WIB. The main agenda in NTB was the inauguration of the Meninting Dam, located in West Lombok Regency.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the President’s primary agenda in NTB was to inaugurate the Meninting Dam. On the same occasion, the President would also simultaneously inaugurate four other dams: the Keureuto Dam and Rukoh Dam in Aceh Province, the Jlantah Dam in Central Java Province, and the Sidan Dam in Bali Province, as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen national water resilience.

He stated that the inauguration of the five dams reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening water resource infrastructure, which serves vital functions for food security, raw water supply, flood control, and the development of environmentally friendly energy.

‘The existence of these dams is expected to provide significant benefits to the community, particularly in increasing agricultural productivity, ensuring water availability, and simultaneously strengthening the foundation for sustainable development,’ he continued.

During the flight to NTB, Prabowo was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
