President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated 218 bailey, armco, and pioneer bridges distributed across all regions, including remote areas. Prabowo described the completion of these bridges within a 2.5-month timeframe as a remarkable achievement.
The inauguration ceremony was held virtually on Monday, 9 March 2026. Attendees included Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Presidential Chief of Staff Teddy Indra Wijaya.
“With the invocation of Bismillah, this afternoon, Monday, 9 March 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate 77 bailey bridges, 59 armco bridges, and 82 pioneer bridges,” Prabowo stated during the ceremony, as viewed from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
Prabowo described the inauguration of the hundreds of bridges as a matter of pride. He noted that this achievement reflected the dedication and hard work of TNI soldiers and field personnel, both in disaster-affected areas and in other regions desperately requiring bridge infrastructure to support community activities.
“Therefore, today’s ceremony, the inauguration of 218 bridges completed within 2.5 months, is in my assessment an extraordinary achievement. This achievement demonstrates the genuine commitment of all TNI soldiers and all personnel in disaster-affected areas and other regions that greatly require these bridges,” he said.
Prabowo asked the Chair of the Bridge Task Force, led by Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, to convey his gratitude to all personnel in the field who worked on constructing the bridges. Prabowo expressed emotion at the dedication of the troops working for the nation’s interest.
“My brothers and sisters, Army Chief of Staff, all commanders, regimental commanders, district military commanders, subdistrict military commanders, non-commissioned officers, brigade commanders, and battalion commanders—convey my thanks as your President, as your supreme commander. My gratitude, my pride, and my respect that I lead a military so devoted to the people, so spirited, so brave in sacrificing everything for the interests of the nation and the people we cherish,” he added.
