President Prabowo Greeted by F16 Jet Escort in Jordan: Thank You, Ramadan Mubarak
President Prabowo Subianto expressed delight at the warm reception accorded by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during his visit to Amman. Prabowo appreciated the courteous welcome extended by King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein through the provision of fighter jet escort.
According to the Presidential Press Bureau on Wednesday (25 February 2026), Prabowo arrived in Amman on Tuesday evening (24 February). The aircraft carrying President Prabowo was welcomed by an escort of two F16 fighter jets from the Jordanian Air Force upon entering Jordanian airspace.
From both the starboard and port sides of the presidential aircraft, the Jordanian F16s flew in precise formation, escorting the President’s plane until its approach to landing at Marqu Military Airbase in Amman.
A warm atmosphere prevailed when one of the F16 pilots conveyed direct greetings from the air. Through radio communication from the cockpit, the pilot transmitted a message of honour to Prabowo.
“Your Excellency Mr President, assalamualaikum warahmatullah. This is Lion One speaking. Your Excellency, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, we feel honoured to welcome you into Jordanian airspace. It is a great honour to escort your flight this evening. We hope you enjoy your visit and land safely. Ramadan Mubarak, Sir,” said the pilot.
In response to the greeting, Prabowo expressed appreciation for the honour bestowed upon him. The Head of State also conveyed thanks to King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for the friendly reception.
“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh Lion Flight, Indonesia One. This is President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia,” said Prabowo.
“I wish to thank you and your flight for your willingness to receive and escort me. And please convey to your commander and His Majesty the King how delighted I am to return to Amman, Jordan. Thank you very much, Lion Flight. This is Indonesia One. Once again, Ramadan Mubarak. May you all be blessed during this holy month. Wassalamualaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh,” he continued.
Shortly after the aerial escort concluded, Prabowo’s aircraft landed at Marqu Military Airbase. Prabowo’s arrival marked the beginning of his working visit agenda in Amman.
This visit to Jordan is his second since assuming the presidency. During his first visit on 13 April 2025, Prabowo also received a similar honour with an F16 fighter jet escort.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the partnership between the two nations, which has been maintained through cooperation in education, religious affairs, Middle Eastern regional issues, and support for the Palestinian cause.
