President Prabowo Focuses on 8 National Priority Programmes in 2027 State Budget Draft

President Prabowo Subianto has officially set the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) for the 2027 fiscal year, focusing primarily on eight National Priority Work Programmes (PKPN). This policy was conveyed in the Government’s Introductory Speech on the Bill concerning the 2027 Fiscal Year State Budget and its Financial Note at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Friday (14/8). In his address, the President emphasised that the 2027 fiscal architecture is designed to remain expansive yet collaborative, targeted, and measured. This step is taken to spur higher economic growth and accelerate the improvement of public welfare, building on the economic achievements of the first semester of 2026. The government has mapped out crucial sectors that will serve as the engines of development in the upcoming fiscal year. President Prabowo added that the eight priorities will be supported by pillars of defence and security strengthening, law enforcement, governance, digitalisation acceleration, and economic diplomacy. To ensure these programmes run effectively, the Head of State stressed the importance of synergy between fiscal, monetary, financial sector policies, and the Danantara investment authority. Economic transformation towards high-value-added activities will continue to be strengthened to deliver a tangible impact on the wider community. ‘Social protection programmes must be reliable. Empowerment for MSMEs must continue to be invigorated. Support for farmers, fishermen, teachers, and vulnerable workers must also be strengthened,’ the President asserted. Beyond economic aspects, the President also highlighted the importance of policy harmonisation between central and regional governments. He issued firm instructions regarding the eradication of corruption and law enforcement, which must be carried out indiscriminately to safeguard the integrity of national development.
