President Prabowo Emphasises Importance of Implementers in Free Nutritious Meal Programme
President Prabowo Subianto attended the ‘Building Indonesia’s Future Generations Through Nutrition’ agenda held at the Sentul International Convention Centre, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday. The event serves as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen its commitment to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
A total of 12,173 participants attended the event, representing various elements of the MBG programme implementation, including Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Offices (KPPG), Regional Coordinators of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG), Regional Coordinators, Heads of SPPG, and various partners involved in programme implementation across various regions.
In his address, Prabowo expressed his appreciation to all MBG programme implementers who have been working in various regions, including remote and challenging areas. He noted that their commitment and hard work play a vital role in the success of this strategic programme, which aims to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.
“I would like to thank you again for your service so far, in far-reaching and difficult places. Thank you for your dedication and your loyalty,” he stated, as quoted from a press release by the Presidential Secretariat.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Nanik Sudary Prime, explained that the participants present represented MBG programme implementers from various regions of Indonesia, both at the central and regional levels. She noted that the group included 20 Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Offices (KPPG) from Sabang to Merauke, led by civil servants, as well as Regional Coordinators (Koreg) of SPPG from across the country.
She also mentioned that while participants were present from DKI Jakarta, Banten, and West Java, thousands of implementing partners also attended to support the MBG programme. The participation of these implementers and partners represents the synergy required to strengthen the implementation of the MBG programme to produce a healthy, resilient, and competitive Indonesian generation.
Through this forum, the government also encouraged the strengthening of coordination and the alignment of steps among all implementers to ensure the programme is executed effectively and sustainably, providing maximum impact for the community.
President Prabowo was accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, the State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Nanik Sudaryati. Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet and leaders of state institutions were also in attendance.
