Residents of Rejang Lebong also received a sacrificial cow from Bengkulu Governor Helmi Hasan, allocated for slaughter in Belitar Muka Village, Sindang Kelingi Subdistrict. Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu (ANTARA) — Residents of Rejang Lebong Regency in Bengkulu Province received a community assistance package in the form of a 1-ton sacrificial cow from President RI Prabowo Subianto for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Eid al-Adha. Rejang Lebong Regency’s Community Welfare Chief (Kesra) Dharmansyah expressed gratitude on Wednesday for the Head of State’s continued support in distributing sacrificial animals to the region. “Alhamdulillah, this year Rejang Lebong Regency has again received a sacrificial animal donation from President Prabowo Subianto — a 1-ton cow. The animal will be slaughtered in Apur Village, Sindang Beliti Ulu Subdistrict,” he said. Dharmansyah explained that the sacrificial cow from Indonesia’s top leader was handed over directly by Acting Regent Hendri Praja after Eid prayers to the management of Apur Village’s Al Huda Mosque. The meat will then be distributed to residents of Apur and surrounding areas. Regarding local government procurement of sacrificial animals, Dharmansyah stated that this year the Rejang Lebong Regency Government did not allocate a specific budget, focusing instead on financial efficiency. “This year, the regency government did not distribute sacrificial animals across all 15 subdistricts, but civil servants are conducting personal sacrifices at their respective residences,” he added. Rejang Lebong’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) Chief Rahman Umar stated that, based on preliminary data, 1,210 sacrificial animals were slaughtered by residents across 15 subdistricts during this year’s Eid al-Adha. “The 1,210 animals include cattle, goats, and buffaloes. The figure is expected to rise as many residents are carrying out spontaneous slaughters not yet recorded in the coming days,” Rahman said. Kemenag predicts that Muslim residents’ sacrificial animal slaughters will continue throughout the Tasyrik days.
