President Prabowo distributes 910kg sacrificial cow to Pondok Modern Gontor
President Prabowo Subianto distributed a 910kg sacrificial cow to Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java. Anwar Boyaman, chairman of the Kurban committee at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the cow arrived on Monday, 25 May. ‘This is a gesture of the President’s support for PMDG,’ he said. Anwar noted that the sacrificial animal donation not only holds religious value but also strengthens community ties between both parties. The cow is of the Limousin breed, known for its large size and superior quality. Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor expressed gratitude for the donation and hopes for continued positive relations between the government and Islamic boarding schools. The sacrificial meat will be distributed to students, local communities, and those in need within the school’s vicinity. President Prabowo Subianto has distributed 1,098 sacrificial cows for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri across Indonesia, with deliveries to 552 regions, educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, social organisations, community leaders, and religious figures. ‘The standard weight for the President’s sacrificial cows is between 800kg and 1.3 tonnes, with each region receiving one. However, 46 regions do not have a cow of that weight, so some receive two,’ said Juri Ardiantoro.
