President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Vice Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, and the service chiefs at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday. The President was accompanied by Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. On this occasion, the TNI Commander and the service chiefs delivered a report on the progress of several strategic programmes currently being implemented by the TNI. These programmes encompass various achievements that support the acceleration of equitable development while improving public welfare. Four main programmes were the focus of the discussion, including the completion of 2,500 village bridges targeted for August 2026, the construction of nearly 3,000 clean water supply points across various regions, the ongoing implementation of rural electrification programmes particularly in remote areas, and a nationwide TNI social service event to enliven the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence. In addition to discussing the progress of these programmes, the meeting also highlighted the TNI’s support for various government priority programmes. Regarding the 81st Independence Day commemoration, President Prabowo provided specific direction for the TNI to present something special for the public as a manifestation of the spirit of independence and dedication to the nation.
