President Prabowo Subianto and his entourage departed for the United States from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Monday (16/2/2026).

According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was accompanied on the visit by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

"The President has departed for the United States to attend a number of strategic forums that will strengthen Indonesia's position on the international stage," the official presidential account stated.

Prabowo is scheduled to sign an Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, as well as attend the Gaza Board of Peace Summit as a demonstration of Indonesia's active diplomacy.

Previously, Prabowo summoned several ministers to his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, on Sunday afternoon (15/2/2026) to discuss Indonesia's strategic direction in economic negotiations with the United States.

The ministers present were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Investment and Downstreaming Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.

"This Sunday afternoon, President Prabowo summoned several economy-related ministers to his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, 15 February 2026," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his statement on Sunday (15/2/2026).

Two important outcomes emerged from the meeting.

First, ensuring that every position taken by Indonesia in economic negotiations with any country delivers the greatest benefit to national interests.

Second, that economic cooperation forged should not only be short-term in nature but should also strengthen the foundations of national industry.

Prabowo emphasised that every economic policy adopted by the government must promptly yield concrete benefits for Indonesia.
