For the second time, President Prabowo Subianto has provided Banmas (Presidential Community Assistance) cattle to Tegal City, Central Java. The jumbo-sized sacrificial animals aim to improve community nutrition.

The presidential aid is scheduled for delivery to Masjid Besar Al Tsumairi on Mataram Street in Sumurpanggang Village, Margadana District. The mosque, situated north of Tegal Terminal, annually organises sacrificial animal slaughter sourced from the local community.

Tegal City Secretary and Masjid Besar Al Tsumairi Takmir Chairman Agus Dwi Sulistyantono confirmed the details: “Correct. This year, Masjid Tsumairi will receive Banmas for sacrificial cattle, to be slaughtered during Eid al-Adha,” he stated via phone on Monday, 25 May 2026.

“We express our highest gratitude to the President, as Tegal residents have benefited from his sacrificial cattle for two consecutive years,” Agus added.

Agus also hopes for further Banmas distributions to Tegal City, with recipients rotating to ensure equitable community benefits.

Masjid Besar Al Tsumairi Takmir Secretary Firman Hadi, who also serves as Head of Community Welfare at Tegal City Secretariat, noted that Banmas rules require rotating recipients to prevent repeated allocations to the same areas.

“The rule is rotation: previous recipients cannot receive it again. Last year’s Banmas went to Masjid Agung, this year to Masjid Tsumairi, and next year elsewhere,” Firman explained.

“The Banmas cattle weigh approximately 1.1 tonnes and are confirmed healthy by Tegal City’s DKP3 (Animal Health and Livestock Service) before handover to the Takmir,” Firman added.

Firman also confirmed the cattle will be received on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, and slaughtered after Eid al-Adha prayers on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at Masjid Besar Al Tsumairi’s premises. Additional sacrificial cattle from Tegal City Korpri’s DPK and community-sourced goats will also be processed.

This year’s Eid al-Adha is projected to manage 35 to 40 cattle and 120 to 130 goats.

With adequate slaughter facilities, the process ensures all meat meets ASUH standards: Safe, Healthy, Whole, and Halal.
