President Prabowo convenes ministers and SOE directors to discuss village cooperatives

President Prabowo Subianto summoned members of the Red and White Cabinet to discuss the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDKMP) at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday. Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto stated that his ministry would report on the progress of socialising the KDKMP in the regions. "We have been focusing on socialisation to village heads and officials, so we are collaborating with 10 village associations to ensure they understand the Red and White village cooperative policy," Yandri said. He noted that this socialisation will provide more information regarding the benefits of the cooperative for villages, as well as its funding and utilisation. According to him, the village associations fully support the socialisation of this government priority programme. Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said the limited meeting would discuss subsidised goods to be distributed through the village cooperatives. In addition, discussions are likely to cover financing and the interest rates for loans offered through the cooperatives. "Also possibly the financing with the interest rate previously conveyed by the President at Indonesia Arena during National Cooperative Day," Ferry said. The meeting was attended by, among others, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, President Director of Perum BULOG Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo, and President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota.
