PARIS – President RI Prabowo Subianto concluded his official state visit to Paris, France, on Friday (29/5/2026). Prabowo and a limited delegation took off from Orly Airport, Paris, heading to Jakarta. Upon arrival at Orly Airport, Prabowo received a military honour guard of 21 personnel standing on either side of the red carpet. Standing before the red carpet to greet the Indonesian leader were France’s Minister for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad Eleonore Caroit and Paris Military Governor General Loic Mizon. The departure ceremony was conducted with solemnity as a gesture of respect from the French government towards Prabowo. At the aircraft steps, Prabowo was also farewelled by several officials, including French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and Indonesian Defence Attaché in Paris Air Vice Marshal Hendra Gunawan. During his stay in Paris, Prabowo undertook several important agendas to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France. His agenda began with a state welcome ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Additionally, Prabowo attended a state dinner hosted by Macron at the Salle des Fêtes in the Élysée Palace. During the state visit, President Prabowo also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with the Indonesian community and diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris. The state visit underscored Indonesia’s commitment to active diplomacy and expanding strategic cooperation with friendly nations in Europe. Accompanying Prabowo on the return flight to Jakarta were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
