President Prabowo Attends State Dinner at Elysee Palace in Paris

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended a state dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Salle des Fêtes, Elysee Palace, Paris, on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

Upon arrival at the Elysee Palace, Prabowo was greeted by Macron and French First Lady Brigitte Macron. Macron delivered a warm welcome, and the two leaders exchanged greetings, embraced, and shared brief conversations.

The state dinner was part of President Prabowo’s state visit to France and reflected the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Indonesia and France. Before the dinner began, Prabowo and Macron introduced each other’s official delegation members. The dinner proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with both leaders enjoying the meal served.

The camaraderie during the state dinner was seen as a strong symbol of the evolving diplomatic relations between Indonesia and France. The leaders’ meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral collaboration in defence, economy, culture, education, and other global partnerships.

Prior to the dinner, Prabowo and Macron held a bilateral meeting. Following the meeting, Prabowo disclosed key strategic topics discussed, including the implementation of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).

“Today, I believe we will discuss several important issues. Cooperation in defence, clean energy, education, research, and the implementation of the Indonesia-European Union CEPA. We thank President Macron for his support in accelerating this development,” Prabowo said.

The head of state also expressed appreciation for Macron’s commitment and leadership in fostering closer bilateral ties.

“Your Excellency, the relationship between Indonesia and France is at its best level so far. We are grateful and respectful of Your Excellency President Macron’s leadership,” Prabowo said.
