The Ministry of Defence is holding the final honour ceremony for General Ryamizard Ryacudu (Ret.) as a national tribute to his service to the country. “As a final tribute to the late general’s service to the nation, the Ministry of Defence will conduct a farewell ceremony and lying-in-state for General Ryamizard Ryacudu (Ret.),” said Defence Ministry Information Bureau Chief Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait in a statement on Sunday (31 May).

Throughout his service, Ryamizard made significant contributions to safeguarding national sovereignty and strengthening the national defence system.
For the Ministry of Defence, Ryamizard was not only a former Defence Minister but also a figure who left a legacy of leadership, dedication, and strong commitment to building the nation’s defence. Rico stated that Ryamizard’s ideas, policies, and service would remain integral to the Ministry of Defence’s efforts in safeguarding the sovereignty and unity of the Republic of Indonesia.
