President Prabowo Subianto witnessed firsthand a display of agility by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and a defile of thousands of personnel during the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary commemoration. The event was held at the Police Mobile Brigade Training Centre (Satlat Brimob Polri) in Cikeas, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday (01/07/2026). According to the Presidential Secretariat, the Head of State observed a series of skill demonstrations and the troop defile from the reviewing stand. The eight-decade celebration of the Bhayangkara Corps featured various attractions demonstrating the readiness of police personnel. The series of displays began with a performance by the drum corps, which boosted the morale of ceremony participants. Following this, the Polri Rifle Column troops entered the field in synchronised steps, forming the ‘80th Polri’ configuration as a symbol of the institution’s golden anniversary. One of the highlights was a hostage rescue simulation. During the action, the sound of gunfire punctuated the atmosphere as personnel moved swiftly and nimbly to execute the rescue operation. President Prabowo was seen saluting on several occasions as a gesture of appreciation for the precision of the action performed. After the skill demonstrations, the event continued with a troop defile involving more than 6,000 participants. The troops were divided into 22 regiments comprising various Polri units. Notably, the defile ranks were not only filled by police personnel but also involved various elements of society. Representatives of youth leaders, school students, university students, labour groups, religious groups, and online motorcycle taxi drivers were visible in the procession. To close the series, a children’s police brigade entered the ceremonial field. With firm steps and synchronised movements, they presented various neat formations before the President, reflecting discipline from an early age. President Prabowo Subianto served as the inspecting officer for the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary, themed ‘80 Years of Polri’s Service to the Community’. President Prabowo Subianto emphasised that public trust is both the capital and the greatest strength for the police institution. Prabowo cautioned that Indonesian democracy must not be hijacked by the interests of capital owners or foreign influences that could potentially divide national unity.
