President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has emphasised the government’s commitment to delivering real and sustainable investment partnerships through a practical and results-oriented approach. This was stated by President Prabowo in his keynote speech at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, 30 March 2026.

“In this strategic transformation, our approach is highly practical and pragmatic. All our projects must be feasible, must be bankable, must deliver real benefits, and real investment returns,” said the President in a press release quoted on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

Furthermore, President Prabowo stressed Indonesia’s openness to international collaboration, particularly with Japan, which is recognised for its strengths in technology, methods, and industrial experience.

The Head of State views the synergy between these strengths and Indonesia’s resource potential and growth as creating mutually beneficial relations.

“That is why we are very open to active Japanese participation, Japanese technology, Japanese experience, and Japanese methods. We believe that combined with our resources, our growth, and our scale, this relationship can be mutually beneficial for both sides,” he stated.

Moreover, President Prabowo emphasised that the government is not only offering investment opportunities but also long-term strategic partnerships. To support this, the Indonesian government has established a sovereign wealth fund that consolidates various state-owned assets and companies under unified management to enhance efficiency and transparency.

“We want rational management and best practices. We want to eradicate corruption and abuse of authority, and the results are very promising,” said the President.

President Prabowo explained that the initial results from managing the sovereign wealth fund show positive developments. President Prabowo revealed that in its first year of operation, several assets recorded significant increases, even up to nearly 300 percent in returns.

“Some of them have generated increases of nearly 300 percent in asset returns. This is very encouraging, but we know we still have a long way to go. However, we are optimistic about our development direction,” he clarified.

Furthermore, President Prabowo reiterated his invitation to global investors to forge closer partnerships with Indonesia. The Indonesian government is opening opportunities for collaboration in industrial development, technology transfer, and shared economic growth.

“Once again, we offer opportunities, but now we offer real partnerships. We are seeking partners ready to join us in building industries, transferring technology, and growing together,” the President concluded.
