President Prabowo Arrives at DPR/MPR Building for Annual Session
President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the DPR/MPR building on Friday, 14 August 2025, to attend the annual session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR).
According to VIVA’s observations at the scene, President Prabowo arrived at 08.05 WIB. The Head of State was greeted by MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani and DPD Speaker Sultan Najamuddin.
Prabowo wore a dark grey suit and proceeded directly into the DPR/MPR building alongside Muzani and Sultan. He was also welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Also present were a number of officials, including MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani, MPR Deputy Speakers Eddy Soeparno, Bambang Wuryanto and Rusdi Kirana, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President Boediono, and the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), Foreign Minister Sugiono, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Minister Yandri Susanto, and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
In addition, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Constitutional Court Chief Justice Suhartoyo, Constitutional Court Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra, Head of the Presidential Communication Office M Qodari, and Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurrahman were also present.
For context, MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani stated that the agenda for the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the MPR/DPR/DPD would be held on Friday, 14 August 2026.
He said the annual session would run from morning until midday. In the agenda, President Prabowo Subianto will deliver a state address and present a report on the performance of government institutions.
“We will listen to the President’s state address as head of state, as well as the performance report of state institutions,” Muzani said at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
Besides Prabowo, Muzani said he would also deliver a speech. The Speaker of the DPR and the Speaker of the DPD will also give addresses.
Muzani explained that the MPR would invite former presidents and vice presidents, ministers, ambassadors of friendly nations, and chairpersons of political parties.
“We are inviting all former presidents, former vice presidents, former MPR speakers and MPR, DPR and DPD leaders, as well as ministers, ambassadors and party chairpersons — we are inviting all of them,” he said.
