President Prabowo Arrives at Basman Palace, Welcomed by King of Jordan
Amman — President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday afternoon local time, and his arrival was welcomed directly by his friend, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
At Basman Palace, which constituted the first item on President Prabowo’s agenda during his visit to Amman, the President held a bilateral meeting with the King of Jordan, which was subsequently followed by bilateral talks between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Upon arrival at Basman Palace at approximately 12.00 Amman time, President Prabowo was received formally by King Abdullah II, and the two conducted a joint photo session. Thereafter, King Abdullah II and President Prabowo walked together towards the location of the state ceremony, which was also attended by several ministers from the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
President Prabowo first introduced his ministers to King Abdullah II. The Jordanian King then greeted the ministers in turn, starting with Cabinet Secretary Teddy, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil, and lastly Foreign Minister Sugiono.
Subsequently, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II stood at the place of honour to participate in the state ceremony proceedings. During the proceedings, the Indonesian national anthem Raya was performed first, followed by the Jordanian national anthem.
President Prabowo then conducted a troop inspection together with King Abdullah II, escorted by soldiers from the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Following the troop inspection, President Prabowo and the King of Jordan, accompanied by ministers from both nations, entered a building within the Basman Palace Complex not far from the ceremony location.
President Prabowo then proceeded with a private bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II. The private meeting was conducted behind closed doors. Thereafter, President Prabowo’s itinerary at Basman Palace concluded with bilateral talks involving government delegations from both countries.
Upon completing all his official agenda at Basman Palace, President Prabowo was scheduled to proceed to Marka Jordanian Air Force Base and continue his visit to the United Arab Emirates.
