President Prabowo Subianto has approved the appointment of Kuntadi as the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) within the Attorney General’s Office. Kuntadi will replace Febrie Adriansyah, who has resigned and become a corruption suspect.

The appointment was ratified through a Presidential Decree (Keppres) signed directly by President Prabowo.

Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, confirmed the ratification during a press conference held at the Palace on Wednesday afternoon, 22 July 2026. In his statement, Prasetyo Hadi explained the basis for the signing of the decree.

“We can inform you that yesterday the President signed the Presidential Decree in accordance with the results from the final assessment team, as referred to in the proposal letter from the Attorney General,” said Prasetyo Hadi.

While showing and reading out the official copy of the Presidential Decree to the media, the Minister of State Secretary then confirmed the name of Kuntadi as one of the officials officially appointed by the President.

“Included in the Presidential Decree is the name Dr. Kuntadi, S.H., M.H., as the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes,” he asserted.
