Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto met with the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani to discuss the development of the downstreaming programme construction at 13 locations across various regions in Indonesia.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting took place at the President’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, on Friday (24/4/2026).

“The subsequent development of the downstreaming programme, which will soon be built at 13 locations in Indonesia,” said Teddy, quoted from the Instagram account of the cabinet secretariat.

In addition, Teddy explained that the meeting also discussed several investors who will invest in Indonesia, particularly in the waste-to-energy sector, mineral resources, agricultural industry, labour-intensive industries, and garments.

He added that the President emphasised that the downstreaming programme should not only focus on the energy and mineral sectors but must also be expanded to the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

“The President wants downstreaming not only in the fields of energy and minerals but also in agriculture and fisheries,” he said.

This step demonstrates the direction of government policy to build a value-added-based economy, expand employment opportunities, and strengthen national competitiveness from upstream to downstream.

Meanwhile, Rosan also posted a photo of his meeting with the President via his Instagram account @rosanroeslani.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for the guidance on accelerating downstreaming and strengthening the Danantara priority programme today in Hambalang,” wrote Rosan.

He is optimistic that investments in Indonesia will continue to increase and be able to open more job opportunities.

“Investments in Indonesia, insyaallah, will increasingly add value, open more job opportunities, and drive the national industry to become more competitive,” he said.
