President Prabowo Allocates Rp100 Billion for 1,098 Qurban Cows
Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro revealed that President Prabowo Subianto’s qurban cattle budget amounts to approximately Rp100 billion. According to Juri, the expenditure for the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Adha comes from the presidential social assistance budget allocation.
President Prabowo is distributing 1,098 cattle across Indonesia for Eid al-Adha. ‘The funding source is from the state budget (APBN), specifically through the presidential social assistance budget,’ Juri stated at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Juri explained that cattle prices vary based on weight and regional factors. ‘We adjust prices per region, with the total expenditure around Rp100 billion,’ he added.
The distribution is split into two schemes: 598 cattle allocated to provincial and district governments across 552 areas — 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities — with each receiving at least one, except 46 regions receiving two due to weight requirements. The president’s qurban cattle must weigh 800kg to 1.3 tonnes, and those 46 regions lacked cattle meeting the standard, hence the dual allocation.
Additionally, 500 cattle were donated to educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren), community leaders, and religious figures. Juri confirmed all cattle are healthy, certified by local health authorities, and comply with Islamic requirements: over two years old, male, and free from defects. ‘These are premium-quality animals,’ he stated.
President Prabowo Subianto is reportedly not observing Eid al-Adha or performing the Eid prayer in Indonesia. He is currently on a state visit to France, his third trip there in five months.
Juri confirmed the President’s whereabouts, stating: ‘The President undertook a state visit to France yesterday, so arrangements will be made accordingly as he remains there on Wednesday.’ He added that the Eid prayer location would depend on the state visit’s schedule.
