President MBZ Affirms Commitment to Increase Investment in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), directly conveyed his country’s commitment to increasing investment in Indonesia.
This was conveyed by President MBZ during a bilateral meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, which took place at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace, Abu Dhabi, on Thursday (February 26th) local time.
“The meeting discussed cooperation to increase investment. Bilateral relations were enhanced. The UAE wants to increase its investment in Indonesia,” said Teddy when confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta, Friday.
Teddy said that both President Prabowo and President MBZ agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and increase investment cooperation between the two countries.
Each leader discussed concrete steps to deepen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in the investment and economic sectors.
This increased cooperation marks the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have long been known to be close and mutually beneficial.
Teddy said that Indonesia is seen as a key strategic partner in Southeast Asia, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and future economic development.
President Prabowo welcomed the commitment and affirmed Indonesia’s readiness to continue strengthening a conducive and sustainable investment climate.
The Indonesian government also opens up wider opportunities for UAE investors in various national priority sectors.
The Cabinet Secretary stated that this meeting also affirms the bilateral relations between Indonesia and the UAE towards a more comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership.
The momentum of the meeting is even more meaningful because it coincides with the commemoration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the UAE in 2026.
The half-century of relations between the two countries is now entering a new phase with a focus on investment, economic growth, and future partnerships.
Accompanying President Prabowo were Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha.
Meanwhile, President MBZ was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the Presidential Court Mohamed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Advisor for Strategic Affairs Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, and UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Obaid Salem Al Dhaheri.
