President instructs Deputy Speaker of DPR to oversee People's Schools in South Kalimantan
Banjarbaru (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has specifically instructed Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal to closely oversee the construction of People’s Schools in South Kalimantan from the planning stage to on-site implementation, ensuring it proceeds in a measured, targeted, and sustainable manner.
Cucun explained that the People’s Schools programme is now entering its second year under the national budgeting scheme, thus requiring stricter supervision to ensure all stages run according to plan without encountering technical or administrative obstacles in the field.
“The oversight by the House of Representatives is not limited to budgetary aspects alone, but also ensures administrative readiness, registration processes, and smooth programme implementation so that its benefits are truly felt by the target communities in need of educational services,” he said during a visit to the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 9 Banjarbaru in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Wednesday.
He emphasised that the President’s direct involvement in monitoring the programme’s progress demonstrates that People’s Schools are a national priority whose quality of execution must be maintained in every region without exception.
He assessed the programme as a tangible manifestation of the state’s commitment to providing educational services to communities that previously faced limitations in accessing decent and quality educational facilities equitably.
Furthermore, he stated that People’s Schools play a strategic role in building the quality of Indonesia’s human resources as a long-term investment in facing increasingly competitive global challenges.
“The House of Representatives will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries to ensure that any emerging obstacles can be promptly resolved through appropriate, measured, and responsive policies to field needs,” Cucun said.
