President Inspects Bulog Danurejo Warehouse to Ensure Rice Reserves Are Secure
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto inspected the Bulog Danurejo warehouse complex in Magelang Regency, Central Java, on Saturday, to directly ensure that the rice reserves are in a secure condition. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, when contacted from Jakarta on Saturday, stated that President Prabowo Subianto made a surprise inspection of the Bulog Danurejo warehouse complex in Magelang Regency after delivering instructions at the Indonesian Regional Leadership Enhancement Course (KPPD) for DPRD Chairmen nationwide. “The President wanted to directly confirm that our food reserves, particularly rice, are in a secure condition and ready for distribution to the public,” said Teddy. “In addition, the President emphasised that besides availability, the quality of the rice must be continuously maintained, and its distribution must be timely and on target so that its benefits are truly felt by the public,” he added. He explained that the Bulog Danurejo warehouse complex consists of two building units with a total capacity of 7,000 tonnes, which is currently fully filled. That condition, according to the Cabinet Secretary, shows very good stock readiness to support needs in the city and regency of Magelang as well as surrounding areas. This is important given the occurrence of fuel and food crises in various countries due to the impact of conflicts in the Middle East. Indonesia is demonstrating a condition that remains strong, safe, and stable in terms of the availability of goods and prices. “The President affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience and ensuring that the state is always present in meeting the basic needs of the people,” said Teddy.
