Prabowo Subianto has handed over six units of Rafale fighter jets along with a number of modern main weapons systems (alutsista) to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Oleh Soleh, a member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), assessed that the addition of these weapon systems is a strategic move to strengthen the national defence system amidst current global geopolitical dynamics. “The handover of Rafale fighter jets and various other modern weapon systems will further strengthen Indonesia’s defence. This addition of weaponry is very important, especially in the current uncertain global geopolitical situation,” said Oleh in his statement on Monday (18/4/202<0xA0>26). With the increase in weaponry, Indonesia will possess an increasingly robust capability to maintain air, sea, and land defences. “Threats can come at any time and from anywhere. Therefore, Indonesia must always be prepared to face all forms of threats,” he emphasised.
