President Distributes 1,098 Qurban Cattle, DPR Confirms APBN Compliance

JAKARTA — Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR, Sugiat Santoso, said the President’s distribution of 1,098 qurban cattle using the State Budget (APBN) is not new. He stated that using the State Budget (APBN) for social community activities is customary for the head of state. “This is routine in state affairs. The President as head of state indeed has a budget allocated to assist the public,” Sugiat said in Jakarta on Thursday, 28 May 2026. He said the President’s qurban cattle distribution has been ongoing since previous administrations, not just the current one. With this assistance, he added, thousands of people benefit during Eid al-Adha. Sugiat also stressed that the head of state’s assistance to the public is not only in the form of qurban cattle. Over the years, he said, the President’s assistance budget has also been used to support various other sectors that address public interests. “Not only qurban. The President’s assistance also covers education, healthcare, and public facilities. So don’t view this as something new,” Sugiat said.
