President departs for Moscow for one-on-one meeting with Putin
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia, from TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, on Sunday (12/4) midnight, for a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his flight to Moscow, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. “On the eve of midnight this Sunday, 12 April 2026, President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia, for a state visit meeting with the Russian President,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy when contacted in Jakarta on Sunday night. The Cabinet Secretary continued that the flight to Moscow was non-stop for 12 hours using the Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft PK-GIF. “(The President, ed.) is expected to arrive on Monday morning Moscow time,” said Teddy. In the one-on-one meeting, the two heads of state are scheduled to discuss several strategic issues, including energy resilience and global geopolitics. Cabinet Secretary Teddy described the meeting between President Prabowo and President Putin in Moscow as “crucial” amid constantly changing global dynamics. “The two leaders will sit together to discuss strategic issues, including: energy resilience, continuing cooperation with the Russian Government, and ensuring stable national energy supplies, including oil availability,” he said.
