President departs for East Java to inaugurate infrastructure and attend NU National Conference
President Prabowo Subianto departed for East Java Province on Tuesday for a working visit that includes inaugurating infrastructure and attending a national-scale religious event. According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, President Prabowo and a limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at approximately 09.00 WIB. The Head of State’s departure marks the start of a series of agendas scheduled to take place in one day.
Upon arrival in Sampang Regency, President Prabowo will inaugurate a 1,151 km stretch of roads spread across Indonesia, which forms part of the implementation of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD). Following the agenda in Sampang, President Prabowo will continue his journey to Bangkalan Regency. In that area, the Head of State is scheduled to attend the Closing of the 2026 National Conference of Alim Ulama (Munas) and the Grand Conference (Konbes) of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) held at IAI Syaichona Mohammad Cholil.
This event is an important momentum for strengthening the role of ulama in safeguarding national unity and contributing ideas towards national development. Accompanying President Prabowo on the flight to East Java were Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
