Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto conveyed optimism about Indonesia’s resurgence as a major global power or “Rising Giant” while inaugurating the electric commercial vehicle assembly facility of PT VKTR Sakti Industries in Magelang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday.

According to an official statement received in Jakarta on Thursday, President Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia possesses a very strong foundation to face global challenges, particularly in the energy sector, viewing the country’s wealth of natural resources as a significant asset for advancing with optimism amid world uncertainties.

“Indonesia is not dark; Indonesia is very bright. We are very strong, getting stronger, our growth is good. For the young people, our future is bright,” the President said.

President Prabowo stated that Indonesia is entering a great era of resurgence and is no longer a “sleeping giant”. With full confidence, the Head of State conveyed the message that Indonesia is now rising and ready to become a global force to be reckoned with.

“Next year, we will create a surprise for the entire world. Indonesia is rising. This giant is waking up; we will no longer be the sleeping giant; we are rising,” the President said.

Prabowo stressed that Indonesia has a very strong foundation to confront global challenges, especially in the energy sector. The Head of State assessed that the abundance of natural resources serves as a major capital for progressing optimistically in the midst of global uncertainties.

“We must remain vigilant, but we are optimistic. We will face the challenges of the coming months, but we have resources; we have very strong and abundant sources. No matter what, we must conserve energy; no matter what, we must now move towards clean energy and renewable energy,” the President stated.

President Prabowo affirmed that food and energy self-sufficiency are absolute requirements for Indonesia to survive and continue growing as a great nation.

“A nation as large as ours, if it still wants to be independent, if it still wants to survive and stay alive, like it or not, we must be self-reliant in the most determining fields, among which the most primary is certainly food, followed by energy,” the President said.
