President Calls DPRD Chairmen Patriots Oriented Towards the People

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto described the DPRD chairmen from across Indonesia attending the event at Lembah Tidar, Military Academy, Magelang, as patriots who love the homeland and are oriented towards the people’s interests.

In his introductory remarks to 503 DPRD chairmen from across Indonesia at the Local Leadership Enhancement Course (KPPD) in Magelang on Saturday, the President stated that his presence was based on the strategic role of DPRD leaders in the regions, as well as an opportunity to deliver directions directly.

“As a child of the nation, today I want to speak from heart to heart, I want to speak plainly,” the President said.

“I come here with one presumption that we are all here as patriots,” he said.

The President emphasised that Indonesia’s strength is not only determined at the central level, but relies on solid, integrity-driven local leadership oriented towards the people’s interests.

He also conveyed that although coming from different backgrounds and regions, all elements of the nation are united by love for the homeland and the Indonesian people.

Several officials present included State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian.

Also attending were Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Head of the National Geospatial Agency Dadan Hindayana, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, along with several other officials.
