President approves Rp100.1 trillion budget for post-disaster recovery
President Prabowo Subianto has approved a post-disaster recovery budget totalling Rp100.1 trillion over three years, distributed across 23 key ministries and agencies and 10 supporting ones. The funding is divided into three stages: Rp38.9 trillion in 2026, Rp32.9 trillion in 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028. Most ministries and agencies have already submitted disbursement requests to the Ministry of Finance, with five having received funds and commenced rehabilitation and reconstruction programmes according to their respective duties. The remaining requests are still being processed, and the task force has called for support from steering committee members and the finance minister to expedite approvals. In addition to central government funding, regional governments have received Transfer to Regions allocations totalling Rp10.6 trillion for three provinces, as directed by President Prabowo: Rp1.6 trillion for Aceh, approximately Rp2.3 trillion for West Sumatra, and Rp6.1 trillion for North Sumatra. The government hopes these funds will be maximised by ministries, agencies, and local administrations to complete the rebuilding of damaged infrastructure and public facilities. Progress in post-disaster recovery across Sumatra has been relatively positive, with 97 per cent of temporary housing already constructed.
