President Appreciates Role of Forest Area Regulation Task Force in Saving State Assets
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed appreciation for the performance of the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH) for their dedication in saving the state’s finances and assets through the reclamation of forest areas.
“On behalf of the government, the state and nation, the entire Indonesian people, and myself personally, I wish to thank the brothers and sisters working in the Satgas PKH. I have the highest regard for your sacrifices,” said President Prabowo Subianto while delivering directives at the event for the handover of administrative fines, state financial recovery, and forest area reclamation phase VI, held at the Attorney General’s Office Complex in Jakarta on Friday.
In his directives, the President emphasised that the task carried out by Satgas PKH is not an easy job, especially given Indonesia’s vast territory and the complexity of issues that may arise in the field. Various challenges, such as threats and intimidation, were also faced by task force members during their duties.
“I understand that many Satgas PKH members have been threatened, some intimidated, and so on. Once again, I greatly appreciate your work and sacrifices,” he said.
Furthermore, the President stated that safeguarding and saving the nation’s wealth is a task full of honour and nobility.
However, the Head of State regretted the individuals within the bureaucracy who misuse their authority for personal and certain group interests.
“We must admit that among us, in our bureaucracy, in our ministries and agencies, in our institutions, there are individuals given tasks and honour by the state, but who use their authority and power to help those who steal from the state’s money,” Prabowo stated.
To that end, he called on all state apparatus to return to the basic principles of service to the people. The President reminded that working in government is a form of service and sacrifice, not merely administrative work.
“Let us close down bad practices, we must close them. Deceiving the people, deceiving superiors, backing bad practices, smuggling, illegal mining, illegal plantations—I urge everyone entrusted by the people to carry out the tasks given by the people to us properly,” said the President.
On that occasion, Prabowo also expressed the government’s full commitment to protecting Satgas PKH. Any form of threat or attempt to obstruct the task force’s work, said the President, constitutes resistance against the state.
“If anyone threatens Satgas PKH members, they are threatening the President of the Republic of Indonesia. If anyone obstructs Satgas PKH’s work, they are obstructing the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s work,” Prabowo declared.
President Prabowo concluded his directives by affirming that the state will not back down in safeguarding the nation’s wealth. The government will stand at the forefront to ensure every state asset is protected and maximised for the people’s welfare.
