President of the Republic of Indonesia has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary while taking firm steps in law enforcement to protect state assets and guarantee public welfare. “If we can control the state’s wealth, there will be sufficient funds to improve all aspects of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he stated at the Attorney General’s Office building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). The head of state emphasised that firm measures to protect state wealth are fundamental to ensuring the livelihood of all Indonesians. According to him, public welfare cannot be achieved if the management and utilisation of state wealth do not provide maximum benefits for national interests. “This is a matter of survival. Indonesia’s 287 million people cannot live well or prosper if their wealth is taken every day, every week, every month,” said President Prabowo Subianto at the event for the Handover of Administrative Fines and Forest Area Lands at the Republic of Indonesia Attorney General’s Office complex. In his speech, Prabowo appreciated the achievements of the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH) in saving state assets. Nevertheless, he emphasised that these achievements represent only a small portion of the potential state wealth that must be saved. “The struggle is still tough; there are still hundreds of trillions, even thousands of trillions, that we must save. There will be questions from many parties about whether it is possible. The answer is not whether it is possible; the answer is that it must be possible,” Prabowo explained. Therefore, Prabowo affirmed that the state will continue to be present through firm and consistent law enforcement. According to him, such steps form the foundation for national revival and national strengthening. “We will take firm steps. It was conveyed earlier that there is no other choice; we must enforce the law, we must convince that the state is present, and the state will continue to be present. And the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia will be strong, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia will rise, even stronger,” Prabowo stated.
