President Appoints Hanif Faisol as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food (Wamenko Pangan) for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
Hanif’s inauguration was formalised under Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 51 P of 2026 on the Dismissal and Appointment of Deputy Coordinating Ministers of State in the Merah Putih Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period, signed by President Prabowo in Jakarta on 27 April 2026.
“I swear by God that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straightforwardly as possible in service to the nation and state. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the office, work to the best of my ability, and with full responsibility,” Hanif stated in his oath of office.
Following that, Hanif signed the minutes of the inauguration. After signing the minutes, the ceremony proceeded with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya.
The inauguration was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari Chaniago, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, and Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
Also present were Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid.
Additionally, TNI Chief General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria, and academic Rocky Gerung were in attendance.
The position of Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food is a new role within the ministry. Hanif will assist the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan in realising food self-sufficiency and the Electricity Energy Waste Processing (PSEL) programme, which has previously been under the Coordinating Ministry for Food.
Prior to this, Hanif served as Minister of the Environment. Before becoming a minister, he also held the position of Director General of Forest Planning and Environmental Control for Climate Change Mitigation at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Dirjen PKTL KLHK).
Hanif’s inauguration ceremony was held concurrently with the appointments of other state officials, namely Muhammad Qodari as Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency, retired TNI General Dudung Abdurachman as Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Jumhur Hidayat as Minister of the Environment, and Abdul Kadir Karding as Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin).
