Preserving Cultural Heritage, Bogor Regent Appreciates Bojonggede Residents
Preserving traditions and culture is crucial as a marker of community identity amid the rapid pace of modern development. This was stated by Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto during his attendance and send-off of the Bojonggede Village Lebaran cultural parade at Bambu Kuning Housing Estate on Sunday, 26 April 2026. The cultural parade, according to Regent Rudy, serves as a reminder of the community’s true identity, which must not be eroded by modernisation. “Preserving traditions and culture amid the dynamics and rapid urban development is a reminder that identity and local wisdom must continue to be conserved,” said Rudy Susmanto. He also expressed his highest appreciation to all Bojonggede residents for consistently safeguarding their cultural heritage. “Thank you and my utmost appreciation to all Bojonggede residents who have well preserved their cultural heritage. From Bogor for Indonesia,” he said. Bojonggede Village Head Dede Malvina expressed gratitude and appreciation for the presence of the Bogor Regent and his entourage, while affirming that this event embodies the community’s commitment to upholding traditions. She also invited the entire community to pray for the Bogor Regent to be continually granted health, strength, and blessings in carrying out his mandate. According to her, the Bojonggede Village Lebaran Cultural Parade has entered its fifth year of implementation. This tradition begins with pilgrimages to the graves of ancestors as a form of respect, followed by a cultural parade that combines elements of Betawi and West Java culture. She also mentioned that this year’s parade featured several judging categories, including the best dongdang, best recycling creation, and best community involvement. With a spirit of togetherness, the Village Head invited the entire community to continue moving forward. “Bojonggede Advances, Independent, Resilient. If Bojonggede advances, then Bogor Regency will be even more special,” she stated. The Bojonggede Village Head also conveyed appreciation for the Bogor Regency Government’s support in village development, and hopes that the established synergy can continue to be strengthened for mutual progress. Through this event, it is hoped that the entire community’s awareness of the importance of cultural preservation will strengthen further, supported by the community’s commitment to upholding traditions as part of identity and regional development strength.
