Present at PSBM, Soppeng Regent Strengthens Business Networks and Investment Opportunities
Makassar, Rakayatsulsel - The Regent of Soppeng, H. Suwardi Haseng SE, and the Deputy Regent, Ir. Selle Ks Dalle, joined the 26th Pertemuan Saudagar Bugis Makassar (PSBM) 2026 at Hotel Claro, Makassar, on Thursday (26/3/2026).
The event, themed “Resilient Merchants, Growing Economy,” was attended by a series of national figures, including Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan, Deputy Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla, and the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman.
The presence of the two Soppeng leaders is more than ceremonial. “This is a strategic step to accelerate the regional economy through investment, inter-regional cooperation, and collaboration among business actors from South Sulawesi,” emphasised Regent Suwardi.
He stressed that PSBM serves as a platform for real business transactions involving entrepreneurs, local governments, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia)—not just empty talk.
Furthermore, the Regent highlighted concrete benefits: expanding business networks, opening investment opportunities, and exchanging ideas for sustainable economic development.
“This forum strengthens inter-regional relations and creates cooperation that directly improves community welfare,” he stated.
Soppeng also showcased its superior potentials to investors, strengthening its position in the competitive regional economic ecosystem.
The highlight of the event saw the Regent and Deputy Regent personally hand over an invitation for the 765th Soppeng Anniversary Celebration (HJS) to South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman. This grand event is scheduled for 8 April 2026.
