The rapid development of the digital economy is driving the need for human resources who are not only academically competent but also capable of building a professional identity in digital spaces.

“In the digital era, everyone needs personal branding, including students. The ability to build a positive self-image can help them become more recognised, more confident, and possess added value when entering the world of work and business,” stated the Acting Marketing Director of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), Syaifur Rahmatullah, in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

According to him, personal branding has become a vital competency within the digital economic ecosystem, as companies and industry players increasingly pay attention to an individual’s track record, communication, and adaptability on digital platforms. To address this, UBSI will hold a seminar titled ‘Personal Branding is Not Just for Content Creators’ as part of its #MenangSebelumLulus programme on 12 June 2026.

The event, which will take place at the BSI Convention Center Hall C, Kaliabang, Bekasi, will feature Deryansha Azharya, also known as Dery Kasisolusi, the Founder and CEO of Kasisolusi, as the keynote speaker. “This seminar is designed to equip students with an understanding of the importance of personal branding as part of their readiness to face the digital economic transformation,” said Syaifur.

The seminar will not only discuss social media popularity but also how students can demonstrate competence and contributions relevant to current industry needs. “We want students to understand that personal branding is not merely about social media popularity. Beyond that, personal branding is a way for an individual to showcase their competence, character, and contribution to their surroundings,” he added.

He emphasised that amidst the increasing use of technology and digital platforms in the professional and business worlds, the ability to introduce oneself and demonstrate added value is essential capital for building a career. Through discussion sessions and experience sharing, participants will gain insights into strategies for building a strong self-image, expanding professional networks, and utilising digital media effectively. The material will also cover real-world practices in developing personal and business branding in the technology-based economic era.

Dery Kasisolusi, a well-known digital business practitioner, will share his experiences in building a professional identity and developing businesses through the use of technology and digital media. “We hope his presence can provide a real overview of the new economic opportunities arising from the development of the digital industry,” Syaifur added.

Syaifur also reaffirmed that the #MenangSebelumLulus programme is part of the university’s commitment to preparing students for the changing needs of the industry and the digital labour market. He expressed hope that through this programme, UBSI, as a Creative Digital Campus, can help students build a career foundation early on and be better prepared to capitalise on the opportunities within Indonesia’s developing digital economy.
