Preparations for Annual Session and Joint Session Reach 90 Percent

Jakarta - Acting Secretary General of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Suprihartini has stated that preparations for the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), scheduled for Friday (14/8), have reached 90 percent.

Suprihartini said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday that the Secretariat General of the MPR, DPR, and DPD continue to finalise the entire series of events, including through a technical rehearsal. “Today, we from the three secretariats general of the MPR, DPR, and DPD are conducting a technical rehearsal with all event participants for the implementation of the Annual Session and the Joint Session,” she said.

According to her, the technical rehearsal is being conducted to ensure the entire series of events proceeds according to the arrangement and procedures that have been prepared. The Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI are scheduled to begin at 08:30 Western Indonesia Time, to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The President is scheduled to deliver a performance report of state institutions at the MPR RI Annual Session. Meanwhile, at the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI, the President will deliver a speech in the context of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as on development achievements.

The series of state agendas will then continue at 14:30 Western Indonesia Time with a DPR RI Plenary Meeting regarding the delivery of the government’s statement on the Draft Law concerning the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget for the 2027 Fiscal Year. “For the plenary meeting on the State Budget Bill, the President will deliver the introduction or government statement on the Bill concerning the 2027 Fiscal Year State Budget along with the financial note and its documents,” said Suprihartini.

She said technical preparations continue to be finalised and are targeted to reach 100 percent after the full dress rehearsal on Thursday (13/8). “Perhaps tomorrow it can already be 100 percent, because tomorrow a full dress rehearsal will be conducted again. Hopefully, all events, the entire series of events, can be implemented according to plan,” she said.

The Secretariat General of the DPR is also coordinating with security forces regarding traffic arrangements and road access around the parliamentary complex in Senayan. Information regarding temporarily closed road sections and access routes that remain usable by the public will be conveyed through official channels.
