Luxury vehicles are typically associated with high prices. However, as vehicles age, their market value can decline significantly from their original launch price. This trend is evident in Indonesia’s second-hand vehicle market for the Alphard, which is now frequently sold for hundreds of millions of rupiah.

CNBC Indonesia’s monitoring on Friday, 27 February 2026 across various second-hand vehicle marketplaces including OLX and Mobil123 revealed that prices for older-generation Alphard models have dropped substantially compared to their new vehicle prices.

Several units are being offered starting from around 400 million rupiah, depending on the year of production, variant, and vehicle condition.

Data from Mobil123 shows used Alphard prices vary considerably. For instance, 2012 models sell for approximately 275–310 million rupiah, whilst 2014 units range around 447 million rupiah. More recent models such as 2017 units still command prices of 740–805 million rupiah.

This price decline is quite significant when compared to the vehicle’s original market price.

For example, the third-generation Alphard, which launched around 2015, carried a new price exceeding 1 billion rupiah. The 2.5 X variant was sold at approximately 900 million rupiah, the 2.5 G type around 1.03 billion rupiah, whilst the top 3.5 Q variant reached approximately 1.6 billion rupiah.

Today, in the second-hand vehicle market, 2015 Alphard units can be found priced between 435–500 million rupiah. This represents a depreciation of more than 50% compared to their original purchase price.

Beyond digital marketplaces, used Alphard prices are also competitive across various other second-hand vehicle trading outlets.

Several Alphard units from premium fleet operations are released to the general market at approximately 417 million rupiah for 2017 models, around 510 million rupiah for 2018 units, and approximately 560 million rupiah for 2019 models.

This price reduction has rendered this premium MPV increasingly affordable for consumers who previously struggled to purchase it in new condition.

Beyond its luxurious image, the Alphard is renowned for various premium features including electrically adjustable leather seats, automated sliding doors, and air conditioning extending to the rear rows. These diverse comfort features maintain its appeal even when purchased second-hand.

With prices starting around 400 million rupiah, used Alphard vehicles are now even positioned within the price range of several new SUVs in Indonesia. This situation is encouraging many buyers to consider pre-owned premium vehicles as an alternative for more luxurious family transportation at significantly lower prices than when originally launched.
