Premium services at Harapan Kita Hospital to prevent patients from seeking treatment abroad
Jakarta (ANTARA) - RSJPD Harapan Kita Jakarta is collaborating with Tokushukai Medical Group to introduce premium services aimed at preventing the outflow of patients seeking treatment abroad.
“The facilities here are no longer inferior to those in hospitals abroad, so those who usually go overseas can come here instead. Later, doctors from Tokushukai will also come here, expert doctors, and they have world-class specialists who will come to practise here. So, people no longer need to go abroad,” said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Minister also stated that Tokushukai will provide the advanced Da Vinci-5 robot for handling cardiovascular diseases, including heart conditions.
“Tokushukai will provide the most advanced robot, called Da Vinci Five, which will arrive here in November 2026. It hasn’t been available in Indonesia yet, so it will be used to serve our patients,” he said.
“We receive BPJS Kesehatan patients, around 70-80 per cent, but this building will mostly be used for the private wing from the sixth floor upwards, while the lower floors from six down are only for BPJS. This is one way to reduce the outflow of patients abroad,” said Iwan.
He continued that world-class hospitals will unite at Harapan Kita by bringing in expert doctors from abroad, including from Japan, to provide education, training, and expand cardiovascular services for the Indonesian public.
“They will practise routinely here under existing regulations, and there are also requests from some doctors from China who want to practise here. Hopefully, this can reduce the outflow of patients. In addition, we will still maintain the proportion of BPJS patients, who will continue to be served here,” said Iwan.
This collaboration between the Indonesian government and Tokushukai will increase the hospital’s capacity from around 400 beds to approximately 800 beds.
CEO of Tokushukai Medical Group, Shinichi Higashiue, emphasised that they aim to make the cardiac education and training centre at RSJPD Harapan Kita the largest in Asia.
“This building will provide the most advanced cardiovascular services, and we want to make this institution one of the largest cardiac education and training centres in Asia,” said Shinichi.
