A single judge at the South Jakarta District Court has partially granted a pre-trial lawsuit filed by the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) concerning the alleged assault on Andrie Yunus, an activist from the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS).

“Granting the petitioner’s application in part,” stated single judge Suparna during the pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (2/6).

In the ruling, the judge granted the request to order the Metro Jaya Regional Police to proceed with the investigation into the acid splashing case involving Andrie. “Ordering the respondent to continue the legal process regarding police report number LP/A/222/III/2036/Satreskrim/Restro Jakpus/Polda Metro Jaya, dated 13 March 2026,” Suparna said. “Rejecting the petitioner’s request for all other matters,” he added.

Previously, TAUD filed the pre-trial lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court regarding the handling of the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus. The pre-trial motion was initiated because the investigation process at the Metro Jaya Regional Police was considered stalled.

“In this application, we are naming the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police and the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police as Respondents,” said Alif Fauzi Nurwidiastomo, Head of Advocacy at LBH Jakarta, at the South Jakarta District Court, as reported by LBH Jakarta’s Instagram account.

It is noted that the police had previously conducted an investigation into the acid attack using a ‘Model A’ report. However, that process ceased when the police transferred the case handling to the Indonesian National Military Police (Puspom TNI).

Currently, there are two reports regarding the acid attack on Andrie circulating within the Metro Jaya Regional Police. The first is the ‘Model A’ report filed by the police shortly after the incident occurred. The second is a ‘Model B’ report filed by TAUD to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), which has since been transferred to the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

Meanwhile, trial proceedings at the Jakarta Military Court II-08 are already underway for four defendants, namely Sergeant Edi Sudarko, Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetyo, and Lieutenant Sami Lakka.
