Pre-trial Ruling against Yaqut Cholil Qoumas Rejected, Suspect Status Declared Valid

Supporters attended the pre-trial ruling hearing at Jakarta’s South District Court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, regarding the establishment of Yaqut Cholil Qoumas as a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Single judge Sulistyo Muhamad Dwi Putro rejected the pre-trial motion filed by former Religion Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas challenging his status as a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the determination of hajj quotas and the administration of hajj worship at the Religion Ministry during 2023–2024.

The court’s ruling upholds the KPK’s decision to name Qoumas as a suspect in the investigation.
