Pre-Trial Motion of BPN Head in Land Purchase Corruption Case Rejected
The head of the National Land Agency (BPN) in Central Lombok, Subhan, has been defeated against the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The judge of the Mataram District Court (PN) has rejected the pre-trial motion filed by Subhan.
“Yes, the pre-trial motion cannot be accepted,” said the spokesperson for Mataram District Court, Kelkl Trimargo, on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
Subhan is one of the suspects in a corruption case involving the purchase of 70 hectares of land by Sumbawa District Government from former East Lombok Regent Ali BD worth IDR 52 billion.
In his considerations, the judge could not accept all of the objections raised by Subhan in the pre-trial motion. “The pre-trial motion of the petitioner is declared inadmissible,” he stated.
The Head of the Criminal Law Section at Kejati NTB, Muhammad Harun Al Rasyid, confirmed the pre-trial decision regarding suspect Subhan. “The pre-trial decision of petitioner Subhan with the decision of the petitioner’s legal representative’s petition is declared inadmissible by the judge,” said Harun.
With the rejection of the pre-trial motion, the investigation will resume. In the coming weeks, the case will be submitted to court for trial proceedings.
For the record, Kejati NTB has established three suspects in the land purchase corruption case involving the acquisition of 70 hectares by Sumbawa District Government from former East Lombok Regent Ali BD worth IDR 52 billion.
The suspects are the head of the National Land Agency (BPN) in Central Lombok, Subhan; Muhammad Julkarnain from the Public Appraisal Services Office (KJPP); and Saipullah Zulkarnain, the owner of the KJPP.
All three suspects are currently detained at the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Kuripan, West Lombok, NTB.
Investigators found state losses in the land purchase process during 2022–2023 amounting to IDR 6.7 billion. This loss has been reimbursed to Kejati NTB by Ali BD, who received the payment.
At the time of the land procurement, Subhan was serving as head of BPN Sumbawa and acted as the chairman of the land procurement implementation team. Meanwhile, Muhammad Julkarnain served as a member of the appraisal team.
