Pre-Trial Motion by Depok District Court Judge Rejected, KPK to Continue Investigation
Judges at the South Jakarta District Court have rejected the pre-trial motion filed by Depok District Court Judge I Wayan Eka Mariarta. The KPK has stated that the investigation process will continue.
“In line with that decision, the KPK ensures that the investigation process will continue. Investigators will delve into all evidence, examine the allegedly involved parties, and trace money flows to fully uncover the structure of the suspected corruption offence,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
Budi stated that the KPK’s investigation process is legally valid. He said the pre-trial decision serves as validation for the KPK’s investigative work.
“The KPK views this decision as a form of strengthening the principle of due process of law, as well as validation of the professionalism and caution of investigators in handling this case,” he added.
Previously, South Jakarta District Court judges rejected I Wayan Eka Mariarta’s pre-trial motion regarding the seizure in the land dispute handling bribery case. The judges stated that the seizure remains valid.
“Having deliberated, declaring the pre-trial applicant’s motion unacceptable,” said the sole judge at South Jakarta District Court, Eman Sulaeman, when reading the pre-trial decision at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (20/4).
“Ordering the pre-trial applicant to pay the court costs incurred in this case amounting to nil,” the judge added.

This case originated from the KPK’s hand arrest operation (OTT). The KPK then named I Wayan Eka Mariarta along with the inactive Deputy Chief of the Depok District Court, Bambang Setyawan, and bailiff at Depok District Court Yohansyah as suspects in the bribery case for handling land disputes. They were arrested in an OTT marked by a chase.
