Pre-market testing of GM products agreed

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian Internet portal for rattan products, Rattanlink.com, plans to launch business-to-business (B2B) electronic commerce to help rattan furniture manufacturers penetrate the international market.

Amid declining demand for rattan furniture in the world market, the existence of B2B e-commerce on Rattanlink.com is expected to boost Indonesian rattan furniture exports, the company said in a statement.

Rattanlink.com, operated by Jakarta-based Evancia Network, serves as a place to discuss various issues and information on rattan and related products, especially furniture.

"Rattanlink.com's mission is to build a worldwide rattan community consisting of observers, players and those seeking information on rattan and related products," company director Yudhian Fantoni said.

Since its launch in January this year, the portal has been visited by 10,000 visitors, a majority of who come from the United States, the company said. (tnt)
