Ten bodies of landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java, were given a mass burial on Friday, 27 February 2026. The victims, buried in a single grave, remained unidentified.

According to observations at the site, an ambulance convoy carrying ten coffins containing the landslide victims arrived at Tanah Mati Public Cemetery in Barunyatuh Village, Pasirlangu Village at approximately 12:57 WIB. The bodies were first given religious rites before being placed in the grave. Prayers and supplications accompanied the funeral procession.

“This morning we received the handover of ten bodies from Sartika Asih Hospital with the Vice Regent conducting the transfer at around 10 in the morning. Then we came here, and after Friday prayers the burial took place,” said Ade Zakir, Regional Secretary of KBB, at the site.

He stated that the ten landslide victims remained unidentified by the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team and were therefore given a mass burial in a single grave. Their gravestones bore only codes marked “Post Mortem” (PM) and sequential numbers.

“The point is that these ten remain unidentified, so the decision was made to bury them here. There is no certainty yet whether they are residents or not. So we prepared gravestones with post mortem numbers,” he said.

He continued that during the landslide that occurred on 24 January 2026, 80 residents of Pasirlangu Village were reported missing to the combined Search and Rescue team. After three weeks of searching and examination by the DVI team, the number of victims identified on the new search list reached 64 people.

“Based on the latest search data, following 14 days of emergency response plus an additional 7 days of independent search by Basarnas, 64 bodies have been identified,” said Ade Zakir.
