Pray for Vidi Aldiano, Habib Ja’far: People Testify He Was a Good Man

Jakarta — Religious preacher Habib Husein Ja’far Al Hadar described the late singer Vidi Aldiano as a good person. The man known as Habib Ja’far said that in Islam, the testimony of people about the goodness of someone who has died is a good omen for the deceased. ‘Many attest that he was a good person. In Islam, forty people testifying that he was a good person is a sign of goodness. God willing, he will be admitted to Allah’s heaven,’ Habib Ja’far said as he attended Vidi’s funeral at TPU Tanah Kusir, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Sunday, 8 March 2026. ‘Who doesn’t have a photo with Vidi? Who hasn’t chatted with him? Everyone’s aura was smiling, beautiful, warm.’ In addition, from the testimonies of Vidi’s friends, Habib Ja’far also noted that the death of Sheila Dara’s husband occurred at a good time, namely during the holy month of Ramadan and coinciding with the commemoration of the Nuzulul Quran. ‘On a good day, the day the Qur’an was revealed. This, God willing, is a good omen for him,’ he said. During his illness, Vidi often discussed with him on various matters. ‘Our communication was frequent, and almost all about worship,’ he added. One of the questions Vidi asked Habib Ja’far concerned the procedures for ablution and prayer while unwell. He urged people to pray for Vidi and to use his passing as a reminder to improve oneself. ‘The best gift for him is to pray for him and to make this a lesson for us to improve ourselves,’ he said.
