Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno has inaugurated the construction of SMPN 1 Padangan in Bojonegoro Regency as part of school revitalisation efforts to realise the President’s programme of equitable national education.

“One of the President’s programmes is school revitalisation, meaning the infrastructure is good, such as SMPN 1 Padangan which has now been completed and inaugurated,” said Pratikno in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, on Saturday.

Pratikno explained that the school revitalisation in Bojonegoro reflects the government’s attention to developing people through education.

Three schools in Bojonegoro have been rebuilt, namely SMPN 1 Padangan, SMKN Ngambon, and SMAN 2 Bojonegoro, to achieve equitable quality education.

Pratikno reminded that developing people is not only achieved through school revitalisation but also requires human resources to be healthy physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

This situation, he continued, can give rise to a fear of missing out (FOMO). Yet children’s ability to filter information and understand the impact of what they see on social media may not yet be optimally developed.

“Parents and schools must work together to reduce children’s dependence on digital devices, such as not using mobile phones as a substitute for childcare,” he said.

For this reason, the government is also accelerating the digitalisation of education through the provision of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) devices or interactive digital boards in schools.

“These devices are intended to accelerate the quality of learning with the help of technology, so teachers can more easily teach their students in a more engaging way,” he said.
