Prasetyo Hadi: Indonesia's Banking Fundamentals Remain Very Strong

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has emphasised that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remain strong, particularly within the banking sector. This statement was made following a meeting between the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, senior executives from Himbara (State-Owned Banks), the State Secretary, and the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Agency, Dony Oskaria, at the Parliament Complex on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Prasetyo stated that this meeting is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen cross-sector coordination in facing economic challenges. Previously, the government, the House of Representatives, and relevant stakeholders had held discussions regarding the energy and mineral resources sector; this latest session focused specifically on the banking and finance sectors.

“Once again, today we are facilitating discussions. If yesterday we focused on the energy and mineral resources sector, today we have gathered to discuss the banking sector,” said Prasetyo following the meeting.

According to him, the results of the discussion indicate that the condition of the national banking sector remains resilient. “Alhamdulillah, as stated, our economic fundamentals from the banking perspective are also very strong,” he added.

He also expressed his appreciation to Dony Oskaria, the Himbara leadership, and representatives from pension funds (Taspen), BPJS, and the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), for their active role in maintaining stability and supporting the national economy.

“Therefore, we thank Mr Dony and the leadership of Himbara, Taspen, BPJS, and INA. As market players, we urge you to continue coordinating and discussing, as we all work hard to overcome economic challenges as we collectively hope,” concluded Prasetyo.
